PeopleWithMS Welcomes . . . . .
MSMOMMY aka Kim from Wisconsin joined us. She was dx'd RRMS in '99, however is allergic to Copaxone and Avonex. She has two children, 12 and 13.
PattiK from Wisconsin has been popping in and out of chat for brief visits. Say "hi" as she flies through.
GenVet1, from Florida, near Pensacola, dx'd '89, is chronic progressive stage 2 and on Novantrone He's bedridden and has the use of only one hand. But his loving wife Rhonda "has stuck with me since the moment I could walk" Now that's a reason to keep going !
James, from Ontario, Canada, has joined chat a few times. He was dx'd in Feb. 2002. Primary Progressive. And legally blind due to Optic Neuritis that has never gone away. SO KEEP YER CAPS ON WHEN HE'S IN CHAT, OK ? And travels across town with his seeing eye dog, Jack, for bimonthly MS Support Group meetings. Can't keep a good man and his dog down.
Betty Jo stopped by from Laguna Niguel, in sunny Southern California ("the other CA"), and in her words; "I was DX in 1981 with RR MS but I have now become SP since 2001. Currently on Avonex and monthly does of steroids. I was asked to come to the site by Lesley Anne. I am glad that I have finally found the site. I look forward to chatting with new people. I am married with 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren."
Honey from Frankfort, Maine stopped into chat. Then rushed off to prepare to have her haircut in the morning. . .
"THE SWEETIE GIRLS," Susan and GMATractor returned from their trip to Niagra Falls for the Jooly's Joint Transcontinental Get-together. They have had many colorful (and unprintable) stories to tell.
GMATractor aka Deanna powerwashed and prepped her house before her jaunt. And sent us the "Before Pictures" She followed up her full story (see below). Hopefully soon to be followed by "After" pictures.
Share relayed her excitement that her parents had bought a house close to her. Plus a beachhouse on Prince Edward Island !

New Stories and Pictures
|Ok a little about me. I was raised a poor white boy in Upstate New York. HA HA. I like to have fun to. I was diagnosed twice for multiple sclerosis. The first time was in 1985 by the U.S. Air Force. They never told me. I remained in service till 1992 and separated. In 1985 I was involved in an accident where I was a passenger in a military bus and a tractor trailer hit us from behind. (more)|
WE LIVE IN OHIO, HAVE 3 KIDS AND 5 GRANDKIDS. WE HAVE LIVED IN THAT HOUSE SINCE
1969, I WAS 17 WHEN WE BOUGHT IT AND JACK WAS 18. SEEMS LIKE IT WAS JUST YESTERDAY,
I HAVE HAD MS SINCE 1998 THAT WE KNOW OF, BUT SYMPTOMS DATE BACK TO 1979. LIKE SO MANY WITH MS, I WAS NOT DIAGNOSED PROPERLY. I SEEM TO BE DOING FINE. I STILL WALK AND DO ALL THE THINGS I DID BEFORE I WAS DIAGNOSED, SO NOTHING HAS CHANGED THERE. (more )
I guess this story begins with a bit about me. I'm a 31 year old mother of 3 fantabulous children, ages 8 *Chantelle*,9 *Blaine*and 12*Shaelyn*. And I have a wonderfuly supportive husband named Ted, who has been with me through it all. MS isn't my only *snerk* as I like to call them, lol I also suffer from a few other things also, OCD, Depression, Anxiety Disorder, Myofacial Pain Syndrome (which is in the same family as Fibromyalgia) and now they are thinking I am Bi-polar. Hey, if your gonna do it, do it right! lol (more)

New Link Sightings
Every week we add new link sightings which may be of interest, as reported by our visitors. This will highlight new links you may want to investigate, before they disappear into the obscurity of some huge link listing. If you come across any site which you think may be of interest, please e-mail us PWMS@PeopleWithMS.com with the site address and a brief description of what you found interesting on the site. We'll include it in the next Newsletter.
CoreControl Avacore Share 5/20/04
Share submitted this site in response to the news contest. While it doesn't quite fit as news, it's certainly an interesting alternative body cooling technology. Anyone with experience, or leads on where this is sold ?
We let loose the news floodgates last week. Much was direct from the National MS Society's summary of the annual American Academy of Neurology Meeting. Check out our News Page !

How do I copy and paste something? Mark it as you usually would with the mouse. Then use CTRL-C to copy it, and CTRL-v to paste it in the message window.
I'm a member. I uploaded my avatar, and nothing happened. What's up with that? Even if your avatar is the specified 50 * 50 pixels, and no bigger than 15KB, there is no confirmation. Apparently because DreamChat personnel review all permanent member's avatars to make sure they are acceptable. (Whatever that means.) If they are, they send back an approval in a day or so, and the next time you sign in, "poof" your new avatar appears.
