What's new in chat ?
Steve is back to work! He is back in chat welcome back Steve. Crystal is back online! Welcome back Crystal!
Thanks to three of our chatters Laura, Roger, and Jack. Muff will be able to ship her computer to Doctor Red. He will fix it and send it back as soon as it can be fixed, so she will be back online.
It was a very nice week in chat. We have been talking about our fall 2005 get together. We have no solid plans. We do know we want it the fall 2005. Cooler weather I am sure is needed. That's why we picked that time of year. After Christmas we will start making solid plans. We are hoping because it is so far away many will come. Plan for it, please. We look forward to meeting all of you in person.
A couple of our dreams are to have a 24 hours chat that's hosted 7 day's a week. I know this may not happen for many years to come. But having a chat with someone in it 24 hours a day that you can talk to, when you can't sleep, have pains, or just need to ask if what's happening is normal for MSer's. This is very important to us. As you have seen, we also want our chat to be a supportive chat and we have the best bunch of chatters that we could have ever asked for. This we thank every one of you. MS is so unpredictable - every minute of the day, that we have to all keep in touch with updates. Staying close and sharing is the way to do it. We all work for each other, that's what is making our chat work. The chatters in it that's all of you.
We are very close to our one year mark, this chat was opened in December of last year. We have made a lot of very good new friends. We lost touch with chatting with some of the chatters we had chatted with many years ago. But as you all can see the chatters who were really friends have followed us. Let's not let MS get us down. We all have bad days, but having a shoulder to lean on, or even someone to laugh with, makes it easier to get through the bad times. Do the same for your friends in chat - we all need you, as you need us.
Lesley Anne is having a UK chat. We have many new chatter's from the UK. We welcome all of you it's a pleasure to have all of you with us. We look forward to meeting every one of you as soon as we can. Thanks again Lesley! We need pictures and stories of our new chatters. It helps new MSer's see that they can do it also. It helps to know your not alone. What a shock it is to some people that MS don't care how old you are, what color you are, It even don't care what color your hair is! So please help other's we need picture's and stories. They can be emailed to PWMS@peoplewithms.com .

*** We Need Your Help * * *
Helping Chatters Get Into Chat
People continue to have difficulties getting into Dreamchat. Tell us in detail what you have to do to a firewall, anti-virus program, or Pop-Up blocker program in order to get in. If you had to upgrade your Windows or Internet Explorer Service Pack, tell us from what, to what. We will start a page devoted to all the different problems people have had, and how they have overcome them, as a resource page for new chatters.
*** One major trouble people have been running into recently is with their Internet Security & Firewall Programs. Holding down the CONTROL key while entering seems to cure the problem. So give it a whirl if you get stuck at the log-in page. ***
DreamChat Trivia (repeated by popular demand)
New to Dreamchat and wondering how to make those neat little smileys and pictures in the text? Easy, here's the Cheat Sheet:
:) Smile :* Kiss :( Sad >-- Rose ;) Wink <love> Love ;} Wry <strobe> Strobe :p Tongue <nuke> Nuke :o Gasp <boom> Boom :# Mad <star> Star
How do I copy and paste something? Mark it as you usually would with the mouse. Then use CTRL-C to copy it, and CTRL-v to paste it in the message window.
I'm a member. I uploaded my avatar, and nothing happened. What's up with that? Even if your avatar is the specified 50 * 50 pixels, and no bigger than 15KB, there is no confirmation. Apparently because DreamChat personnel review all permanent member's avatars to make sure they are acceptable. (Whatever that means.) If they are, they send back an approval in a day or so, and the next time you sign in, "poof" your new avatar appears.
Crystal is back! We are waiting for more of Crystal's Corner!
