Well here goes my MS story. I haden't been feeling very well then my entire left side went kinda numb so I was thinking stroke.  I went to the Dr. and told him what was going on.  He said let me run some tests and he did.  He drew blood took X-Rays ordered all kinds of lab work to be done and ask me to come back and see him in a week. I went back to see him in a week still feeling the same as before. Tired and wore out and my left side kinda numb. He ask me how long it had been since I had been to see a Dr. and I told him I didn't know for sure maybe 12 or 15 years. He said you should see a Dr. at least once a year. I told him I was from the old school if it ain't broke, you don't fix it. He then told me that I hadn't had a stroke but he thought I had MS but he wanted to send me to a neuro so I agreed. I went to see this neuro and she started her batch of tests. I told her I had already had those done but she wanted to do them herself. So I had more blood work done more X-Rays and she ordered an MRI which I had done also. She ask me to come back in a week which I done and she said yes she thought I had MS but wanted to do some more tests.....

So I had another MRI more blood work and X-Rays and what she called the best test for MS a spinal tap. I said wait a min. aint that what they do to women that are having babies I may look like im expecting but im not. Any way I had a spinal tap and she said come back in a week. I went back in a week and she said yes i had MS. I said ok fix it and she said; "we can't."

I said ok, what's next?  Thats when she introduced me to Avonex and told me I'd be on it for the long haul.  My next question was will my kids get this and she said NO. I then asked, if she was so sure my kids won't get this, then why did I get it.  She told me they didn't know what caused it or why people got it.  She then ask me if I had been under any stress and I told her I lived on stress. I owned my own business and worked for myself at the time. I had two teenage sons living at home with me and my wife who I had put through school to become an RN. and a daughter from an earlier marriage who had just married. I ask how deep of a hole do you have to dig to rid yourself of stress.

I have had enough x-rays I should glow in the dark and I've also had enough blood work done they shouldn't need any blood at the blood bank for quite some time.  Now when they say they need to draw some blood I just tell them if I have any left they are welcome to it.

I guess you could say I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none.  I built my own house from the ground up.  I've worked in the coal mines as an equipment operator.  I've got my foremans license , my blasters license in Ohio, KY and West Virgina.  I've also worked in all three of those states. I have my CDL license and a Pilots license as well.

As you can see by now, I just try and make lite of me having MS.  No need in crying over spilt milk. I just live one day at a time and try to make the best of it. I don't want to bore you with all the details so if you have any questions ask me in chat or send me an e-mail and I'll do my best to answer them. I will send this now and as soon as I figure out the picture thing I'll send one of those in as well.

Be well stay safe and last but not least always smile there is always someone worse off than you.
