Jen aka stampingtowardsacure

Hello, my name is Jen, aka stampingtowardsacure.  I was diagnosed with MS in June of 2001.  It has been a long journey thats for sure.  The doctors had a hard time in the beginnng detecting what it was that was wrong with me.

The first signs I did have was the sensation in my legs were all backwards I guess you could say.  I would notice when I was in the shower the water would be warm, but as soon as it hit my legs it felt cold.  Then, just the opposite with cold water, I was out in our driveway washing the car using the hose outside the house, and that water felt hot when it hit my legs, and it really was very cold water.  Well, my sister said, it sounded like a pinch nerve problem and I should go see the chiropractor.  So, I made an appointment, and he looked me over.  Seeing it was my first time ever at the chiropractor, there was lots to be done.  So, he had me come in every week three times.  Some aggressive ajustments he put me threw too.  Well, the first week was the worse, I was in more and more pain, every time he worked on me.  Well, I was eventually to the point where I was bedredden.  My chiropractor then, ordered a MRI and I went to that; results came back they didn't spot anything unusual.  So, I was back home, tried to see the chiropracter, but that was very unlikely with the pain I was in.  So, thing began to get worse even yet, now I was experiencing my abdomenal balloning out, and my legs were getting weaker, starting to have bladder problems. (not being able to pass urine).  So, my chiropractor saw me at home, saw what kind of shape I was in.

Onc agan he sent me in for a MRI.  Again they claim they didn't detect anything out of the ordinary.  So, I was sent home again, where I was still in ungodly pain, couldn't sleep, couldn't even go to work, not a thing.  When my chiropractor found out they sent me back home again, he wasn't too happy, because he wekl knew that there was something going on with me.

So, he issued another MRI and told them to really look this time.  So, back to the hospital we went, another MRI.  Well, this time it popped out at them, they detected something.  It was pretty serious, they didn't send me home this time.  I was put in the ER, they took some blood, urine, and a spinal tap.  My lungs were about ready to collapse.  Well, I wasn't doing good at all, I was airlifted to a different hospital.  Where the results of all my labs came back.  I was in the ICU for 3 to 4 days, on high dose of sterroids.  I was dxed then with Transeverse Mylidise, (swelling of the spinal cord).  My spine was swollen so bad that my lungs were getting smashed.  Well, I spent about a month in the hospital.  I came out walking, after some therapy.  I was then for a year year in a half span I was in and out of the hospital every two months.  They then DXex me with MS.  Well, the last hit, my body  took the worst, because I was put in a wheelchair.  However, I don't plan on staying in it.  I am now, in remission.  I have been since 2003.  I am enjoying it, keeping on my physical therapy, that will help me out of this chair.  I am watching my health better now, as well.  I just still keep active, enjoy life to the fullest.  I am not letting MS wreck my life.  I can beat this!!!!!!!!
