Scott

My name is Scott

I was hard working and was determined to make something of myself even though I was working in an odd field. I was really into Forestry and logging. The problems with MS started with tingling in my fingers that when consulted the Dr. s did not even send me for tests. Then I had blurred vision. After several Visits to the DR.s, it turned out to be optic neuritis and I was sent to see neurologist’s .They never even hinted to me that it could be MS. Then I began having problems walking and got steroids that really helped. I was sent an MRI, and sure enough they found lesions. I was completely unaffected for years after that. The Neurologist had told me that I may never have another relapse and to go ahead and live my life. So i went on and lived my life. I bought acres and acres of woodlands and my dream was to support myself as a retiree by cutting the highly valued trees that I had grown for years and years. I even had a crew that logged for me with heavy logging equipment. And then I bought into a company with logging trucks. and I worked at my job all the while. And eventually the symptoms caught up with me and I sold it all as soon as I could bear to part with it. I took Avonex for 4 Yrs. I worked till 2004 at Management jobs. I now live with my 2 kids. I took Copaxone for two years,It did not help me much. The last year I was on Copaxone I had six Relapses and took steroids every time. I've been taking Rebif for this last year and it seems to be helping.
