Hello!, My name is Sue...
I am almost 59 June 14 (Flag Day,
yeah). I was Dx'd in 2005, December, I thought I was just not aging well, and kept putting off going to
the doctor. She said we are sending you to a Neurologist, I think you have MS. Didn't know anything about
it. After all the test and MRI's he said, no doubt it is MS. Primary Progressive. I started treatment with the
understanding we are just trying to hold it back.
Mentally, I am just fine. I write
a lot of poetry on Poets.com and World of Poets.com. love those sites.
Found this site by accident and really, really enjoy. It is the first
site that is so positive and makes you feel not so lonely in this. I
have four daughters and four granddaughter and finally a new
grandson. My husband is getting ready to retire from plumbing soon and
it is a shame I am not
quit the spunky gal I use to be to travel with. He is really good about
making me feel okay about this. Anyway, my best to all and am looking
forward to my visits. Forgot to mention I live in southern Illinois in
the
country. What a great place to live
The True Body Work Out
For All Those Multiple Sclerosis People like me
Older and wiser, I'll start with the feet
Not pretty to look at, have to look down to meet
Mine our quit numb now, and I miss them so much
no heel and toe movement, toes in a bunch
The legs that go up that still hold me up
Move slower and slower, as weak as a pup
The torso still working, it keeps me upright
reminds me of insides that lay still in the night
Arms are in motion down to those hands
that are clumsy and tight like small rubber bands
The head is the problem, with the king of the throne
That brain with it's MS, won't leave us alone
The brain says keep working on those other parts
With MS, the brain waves, have all those brain tarts
The connections to others in this body of whole
gets broken and cross mixed in signals to go
No complaining you see, but I sure would enjoy
a full body workout if this brain would employ

Author's Comments:
"Never paid attention to MS, until I was the one. For a person who likes
their brain power, it is not so pleasant"
