HI , my name is Terry aka Tee and my wife's name is Maryann, I am the caregiver for my wife of 41 years. she has ms for the past 23 years. She uses a w/c most of the time but can still walk a little with her walker. She started taking Betaseron about nine years ago and at the time was walking fine but over the years she needed a cane then a walker and since Jan of 2002 she uses a w/c, i guess time and exacerbations took it's toll on her. We understand the ABC-R meds don't cure the ms but slow the progression of it. Last May we started hearing about LDN lowdosenaltrexone so we decided to try this because we were hearing about so many good results. About a month after she was on LDN her doctor told her to stop the Betaseron completely ,which sure made us happy. During the first month my wife started to feel stronger and happier then she did in a long time, she started to transfer herself from her recliner to the w/c by herself ,wow this was great. Then she started to notice her incontinence was getting better so she didn't have the urgency anmore and stopped wearing the Poise pads that she was wearing 24/7 for many years. This was really something because now she wasn't afraid to go away and we started to go out to eat again which we didn't do in years because she was afraid of the incontinence. Yea people say "wear depends" but it isn't quite that simple when you have this problem. We have a much better life now and it is so nice not to have to give her the injections anymore. We live in Pennsylvania Dutch country in a small town and we have the Amish people living in our area so we get to see the horse and buggies all the time when we are driving the back roads. We have three married children and two grand daughters. I'm looking forward for summer because i know i can be outside and go away when i want to for the day and don't have to worry about my wife being alone. I know we all have choices to make in life and we are so happy we tried the LDN. I hope to meet everone here because it seems like a very nice place. my GOD BLESS Maryann and Terry |
