Hi
I am Diane
Walters a.k.a. wcgirl. I am 41
yrs. young
live in NJ & have SPMS that has paralyzed my body, but not my
life.
I had
lots of symptoms as a child & saw lots of
specialists in N.Y.C. but never told anything. My exacerbation in ‘88
paralyzed my left side, my spinal fluid was negative & M.R.I.
was thought to
be a stroke. I recovered to walking with a straight cane in 6 months,
it was a
huge challenge but I honestly believe that “If God brings you to it,
God will
bring you through it.” In ’93 I had an exacerbation that paralyzed my
right
side.
I had
given up on ever feeling whole as a person again
until this past summer. I have been blessed with a very special man
with whom I
am thrilled to say I am engaged to. His name is Mark and no words can
describe
how much I love him or how good he is to me.
Thanks
to my wonderful parents who
welcomed me home when I could no longer stay alone safely in my condo,
I have
“my place”, their former garage. My parents take care of me with the
help of
my fiancé .
I
continue to stay active. I participate
in Christian Overcomers & Freedoms Wings. I love the outdoors,
even hiking.
Mark has brought me to mountain tops and taught me to find my wings
again. I
stay inside in Winter, I enjoy painting wooden ornaments, reading,
listening to
music, and chatting. I type using a mouthstick so I respond a bit
slowly.
I
choose to focus on the positive. My
advice to you is stay the “you” that’s inside, MS can’t take that away.
God
Bless you all!
